The Hub

Welcome to the Ivanhoe SEMH Hub – ‘The Hub Club’!

We would like to take this opportunity to warmly welcome you and your child to the Ivanhoe SEMH Hub – or as it’s most fondly known by our current pupils, ‘The Hub Club’.

Our Hub was created as a referral-based provision to support children who are finding it challenging to manage their Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs within a full mainstream timetable. At the Hub, we offer a calm, nurturing environment where pupils are given the space, time, and support they need to thrive both emotionally and academically.

Leading the Hub is Miss Moxon, and she is supported by three dedicated and caring Learning Support Assistants: Miss Cain, Mrs Bond, and Mrs Backhouse. Together, we form a strong and compassionate team committed to helping each child feel safe, understood, and capable.

Our goal is to help pupils remove the barriers that prevent them from fully engaging with school life. We aim to equip them with emotional regulation tools, build effective social skills, and instil a sense of self-worth and belonging. Through a carefully designed PSHE-based curriculum and targeted interventions, pupils also work on their core academic skills—reading, writing, and number—laying the foundation for lifelong learning.

At the Hub, we celebrate differences, encourage aspirations, and support every child to recognise their own unique strengths. We value open communication and strong partnerships with parents and carers, as we know this is key to success.

We mainly communicate via Class DOJO, and we are always happy to answer questions or arrange a meeting—just drop us a message, give the office a call, or catch us at the end of the school day.

We’re so pleased to welcome you to The Hub Club family and look forward to working closely with you.

Warmest wishes,
The Hub Team
Miss Moxon, Miss Cain, Mrs Bond & Mrs Backhouse
