Monkeys - Year 5/6A - Mrs Noble

Mrs Noble and Mrs Regan welcome you to the Year 5/6 Monkeys Class page! We look forward to showing you some of our fantastic learning this year.

This is a very important academic year, when children work hard and have the opportunity to show and celebrate what they have learned. It is sad in many ways as it is the final year at primary school, but also exciting as the summer term is the gateway to new challenges at secondary school.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to speak to Mrs Noble or Mrs Regan.

Our PE day is every Wednesday - please bring both indoor and outdoor kits every week.

Homework will be sent out every Friday and is due back in the following Friday.

Please remember your reading books every day and don't forget you can gain stickers for prizes by reading at home.

As part of the Doncaster Stories project, every child in KS2 was gifted a Roald Dahl book. Here are some of our Y5/6 children with their copies.

Home Learning during School Closure due to Covid-19 Coronavirus

As a guideline, we recommend creating a timetable for your child to help you structure their day. Our suggestion would be to spend an hour on each of the key areas below.

Here are some suggested websites for you to access at home.

Our Autumn 1 Learning

Year 5/6 had a great visit to the National Coal Mining Museum where we had the opportunity to travel 140m underground and explore the mine. We had a great day!

We have also been doing lots of work based on coal mining in class such as sketching miner portraits.

We have even had a go at digging cookies for chocolate (coal)!

Two Ex-Miners came into school to share their experiences with the Y5/6 children.
