Wallaby - Year 2A - Miss Moxon

Welcome to the Wallaby Class!

Keep checking on our learning journey with Miss Moxon and Mrs Sleight throughout the year.

PE is on a Thursday. Please make sure you have full PE kit, which consists of: shorts, t-shirt, trainers or pumps and jogging/tracksuit bottoms during winter times. We also participate in an additional health and wellbeing activity each afternoon so having appropriate footwear in school throughout the week is ideal.

Children are encouraged to bring a water bottle every day. We also provide children with a piece of fruit each day.

Homework goes out on a Friday and is due back the following Friday. Your child cannot get 'Learner of the Week' if they haven't brought it back! If your child's homework is brought back on time, they will receive 5 DOJOs for determination.

Within the class, children are rewarded with dojo points for a variety of things which reflect the school's learning behaviours; Independence, Determination, Pride, Respect, Curiosity and Resilience. The highest point scorer will receive a prize from 'The Friday Prize Pot'.

In The Wallaby Class, we are passionate about all our learning! One way we can really improve our learning at home is by reading. Please ensure your child is listened to at least once a week. Each child has a set reading day, check with Miss Moxon or Mrs Sleight if you have forgotten your child's reading day. It is important that their reading book and reading record is in school on this day to ensure it can be changed and that their stickers can be updated (records need to be signed if your child has read).

If your child's reading book needs changing earlier, just let Miss Moxon or Mrs Sleight know. Your child can read any books/ texts at home alongside school reading books and these can be written in the reading diaries too! We encourage this to ensure our children love what they read!

If you have any questions about your child's progress or learning, please do not hesitate to speak to Miss Moxon or Mrs Sleight!

Home Learning - Summer 1 Week 1

Hello all! It's Miss Moxon here! I hope you are all well and staying safe. I am back in the UK and it's been such a welcome return seeing lots of beautiful rainbows in the windows of Conisbrough homes, although I would much prefer to see all your smiley faces! I'm sure it won't be long until we are all reunited and back to 'normal'.

We have got so much catching up to do and I can't wait to hear all the things you have been doing during your time off school. You don't have to wait for school to start to share with me and the other teachers what you have been up to. Check out Ivanhoe's new Facebook page or please feel free to get your grown-ups to email me Claire.moxon@ivanhoeprimary.co.uk.

Our main priority and concern is that you are all happy and safe during this time and making the most of the beautiful sunshine with your families out in the garden or out doing daily exercise! Each week me and the other Year 2 teachers will be adding a selection of work to the class web pages for those who wish to complete it. This is not compulsory! It is optional for anyone who is wanting to keep busy with some work. Don't worry about completing things on the worksheets if you cannot print, you can complete it on any sort of paper. If you are wanting any extra work or anything specific, please ask your grown-ups to email me and I will get that sorted for you.

I can't wait to see you all again! Sending lots of virtual hugs!
