£20,000 to be raised…

Everyone will see from the homework front page for next week that it is the aim of the school to raise £20,000 to spend on outdoor play equipment for children to enjoy from the ages of 3-11. Just for an example, we spoke to someone who produces those play areas made from tyres that some schools have – and they cost £3,200 just for one area, so it is quite an expensive exercise…

So how can we raise £20,000 in a year – sounds impossible but we have to aim high. I would like parents and children to try to make lots of suggestions – some can be obvious and some can be a bit different, but let’s get our heads together for this one as it could be a really significant experience for us all – with fabulous end results. Please blog your ideas and we can get fundraising!

New School Dinners…

Wow, wow and wow again! The new school dinners have proved to be very popular so far. The food is of the highest quality and there is an abundance of variety – and it seems so healthy. Added to this, the dining hall is very calm and quiet – with lots of teachers eating with children and everyone enjoying their dinners. There have been a few teething troubles – but when you change an entire system that is no surprise. I am really looking forward to the fish and chips this Friday but my favourite meal so far has been the vegetarian shepherds pie last week – and my favourite pudding has been apple and blackberry pie. Tell us what you think about the new school dinners – let us know what you think good or bad…and if it is bad, we will try to improve it! Five bloggers picked out of a hat can invite a parent along for lunch – how is that! If any parent wishes to come and try, then just blog and we will see what we can do…
