It seems funny to be sitting at home with a garden that still has plenty of snow in it and thinking about a long hot summer, but the sun is out and it looks bright and cheerful – and we will be back at school in less than a week and the summer must definitely be on its way! The last term of the year is always special; for the Y6 it means getting ready for their next school (once they have got their SATs out of the way!); for the Y5 it means choosing a uniform colour for next year. Of course, the Y2 children will be thinking about being juniors, and Nursery children will be wondering what ‘big school’ is like. I love the summer term because it means we can have extra play in the afternoon with the fields full of children having a good time, and it means that the newly planted quiet area will be full of colour and delicious scents of different plants. This is a hard working term for teachers and children alike, but it will be so nice to see some sun and to be able to walk around without coats! What are you looking forward to this term?
