Last week I asked parents on the homework to tell me what they wanted for their children from Ivanhoe Academy. This week I would like children to blog what they would like from the school. It is really important for everyone to think about why we all come to school: whether we are learners, part of the teaching team, one of the other people who helps the school run smoothly, or a parent, carer, relative or friend. I asked Stella this morning what she wanted from her school and she said, ” I want teachers who smile when they are teaching and I also want to do lots of PE…” I asked Eve and she said, ” I want to go on trips with my school and I want teachers who takle care of every child in the class…”
In the next few weeks I want to put together something called a Mission Statement for the school, trying to capture exactly what we are all about. I know what parents want from school, now it is time for children to tell me; I will be asking teachers over the next few weeks and then it can all be put together in a long paragraph. So please tell me what you want – a few words from you will do, or a sentence or two or even a paragraph! It is really important that everyone has the opportunity to contribute then it can really be said to represent what everyone thinks.
