(Yet another) Sad Day…

Last days of the summer term are very strange occasions. It is so lovely to have the Leavers’ Assembly and to see children going around school getting their shirts signed and to hear children enjoying their disco – I can hear “Glad You Came” (by The Wanted) blaring out with children shouting and singing over it!

I really hope that the Y6 (soon to be Y7) still feel part of Ivanhoe School. I hope that over the summer holiday they will all blog us a photo to head@ivanhoe.doncaster.sch.uk and let us see what they are doing…

Life goes on. In the autumn we will have about 240 children in this ever-growing school, and we hope to become an academy, and we hope to continue to give our children a fantastic education in the widest sense…

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

Memories of 2010/11

It is nearly time to say bye bye to our lovely Y6. At this time of the year I invite everyone to think about their best memories of this school year and/or their best memories of Ivanhoe School. If I think back over 2010/11, I remember in December, getting off the bus at the bottom end of the school field and wading through snow that came up to my thighs. The snow was completely untouched as no children were in school (because of  the snow). It was amazing to see such a white landscape…the only thing moving was Mr Luke, clearing paths. I have other great memories of course: the panto, the nativity, the Ofsted inspection (didn’t think much of that really, but it was great to see how positively parents spoke about the school) the Young Voices concert…I have enjoyed all the extra play in summer time – and I have loved to see how Mrs Toller has sorted out the allotment. What are your best memories of this year – or if you are a Y6, of the whole of your time at Ivanhoe.
